Every month, we're giving away a year supply of free crickets.

And the rules are simple:

  1. Post a picture of your amazing pet, their kooky personalities, their adventurous habitats or anything else pet related.  But how do I do this?  Click the Start a Topic button in the upper right hand corner.  Upload your picture, and give it the title Cricket Contest.
  2. Collect the most Critter Gold for the month (read below to find out more information on Critter Gold)
  3. And Boom!  You just won a year supply of FREE crickets

What is Critter Gold and how do I collect it?

Critter Gold is a reward system (see here).  Every community member has the opportunity to reward interesting posts with Critter Gold.  If you want to win a year supply of free crickets, post an interesting picture of your pet or habitat so that community members will reward your post with gold. And anytime you see amazing animals, interesting habitats, or anything else that strikes your fancy, be sure to reward that post with Critter Gold as well.

Announcing the Winners!

  • The winner will be announced within 48 hours by the end of each month.
  • The winner will be awarded a coupon code for 500 free crickets.  This coupon code will be honored for 12 purchases.
  • Winners may continue posting pictures, topics, and questions.  But they are not eligible to win until 12 months since they won.

I have a ball python and a leopard gecko but the pixie is way different. He went into hiding a week ago and I keep looking for him and can’t find him. His humidity stays at 85% and I mist it daily with dechlorinated water. I am bioactive so I have really good substrates, sprag moss, pillow moss, and pet friendly plants that I learned about in my bioactive group and a ton of research. He has a big tub of water with river rocks and a big lava rock that he can use to get in and out of the water. The temp on the cool side stays about 75 and the temp on the warm side is around 82. I am not sure if he is eating but as it is bioactive I have Dubia roaches, isopods, springtails, earth worms, and millipedes running around in there so I’m not worried about him starving. I even caught some of the Dubia and dusted them with calcium just in case. But it’s been over a week since I’ve even seen a sign of him. I even have some shelf lining that covers part of the screen top that I heavily mist so it drips throughout the day like rain. Why won’t he come out of hiding? This is my first bearded dragon, he’s now approx 4 mos old and is eating 30 5/8” crickets twice/day, so 60 per day. But my whole family thinks I’m feeding him too much and says he’s fat. I’ll try to post a picture of him right after his morning feeding so maybe someone here can tell me their opinion. (I timed him eating because I’ve read to feed as much as they’ll eat in 5-10 min, so he scarfed down 30 in less than 7 minutes. However, I only dump in a few st a time so I’m making sure he’s eating them all and I don’t have to worry about any left in his vivarium. He is a devilish little boy who loves to run around the house with his tail in the air. He loves to sleep in dark corners and especially loves sleeping on my daughter’s neck with her hair covering his face. Thorn would love to win a supply of crickets for a year. Thorn has a hearty appetite and loves his crickets!
